Men's suits in large sizes are becoming more and more popular and are no longer the preserve of specialist shops selling only oversize clothes. With a population whose sizes are increasing, many firms are extending their range of sizes to include those previously not available. One such firm is Brook Taverner.

When people say large sizes they generally mean either tall or large waist and chest, and Brook Taverner are trying to cater for both of these requirements.

If we address the tall guys first, almost all of the mix and match suits are available in unfinished which means the leg is approximately 36 inches. But please bear in mind that you would need to have a hem put on which would mean the maximum finished length would be about 35" -  35 ½ inches.

The other more obvious reason for needing a large size would be the bigger chest and waist sizes. Brook Taverner used to go up to 50" chest in everything and 54" in some things but they have now extended the range over a few fabrics and those now go up to 60" chest and 56" waist. While some firms have only ever stuck to the obvious colours in these sizes, such as black or other dark colours, Brook Taverner have brought out 2 which are more unusual, a pin stripe and a light colour.

The pin stripe is a grey and the light colour is a beige/ natural colour. The added advantage of the light suit is it is machine washable so has the look of linen but easy to clean and making it ideal for a summer wedding or just as a lightweight suit.

Being big no longer means dressing drab and you no longer need to seek out specialist suppliers.
